Wins 2005 Business Champion Award
COCC
RECOGNIZED BY CONNECTICUT BUSINESS GROUPS
AVON, Conn. May 31,
2006 - COCC, a leading provider of next generation technology services
for financial institutions, has won two awards acknowledging its strong
growth and contribution to Connecticut’s economic growth. The Avon
Chamber of Commerce named COCC its “2005 Business of the Year” and the
Metro Hartford Alliance named COCC one of its six “Business Champions”
for 2005.
“These awards
celebrate COCC’s growth and contributions to the financial health of
Connecticut’s business communities over the past three years,” said
Richard A. Leone, President and CEO of COCC. “We are pleased to be
recognized for our achievements and look forward to further success and
increased awareness in the market for financial information services.”
COCC provides
complete data processing solutions to community banks and credit unions
using the latest open systems. The company is one of the first financial
data processors to migrate its clients from a proprietary core system to
an open, relational system built on an Oracle data base. COCC has also
distinguished itself with its Internet security services, end-to-end
check image solutions, electronic banking, and more.
COCC received the
Avon Business of the Year award at the Annual Avon Chamber of Commerce
luncheon on May 24. In comments before the group, Chamber president Ron
Evans acknowledged COCC’s 34 years in Avon and its workforce growth
since 2002. The company will receive the Metro Hartford Alliance
“Business Champion” award for companies with more than 250 employees at
the Business Expo in Hartford on June 1.
The company was
nominated by Murtha Cullina, LLP, on the basis of its strong revenue and
employment growth. COCC has nearly doubled its revenues since 2000 when
it earned $23M to 2005 when it brought in $44M. Company-wide employment
increased from 240 to 307 during the same period. This past year alone,
the company’s revenues increased by 10.8%.
Leone said the
growth is a direct result of the company’s vision for open technology
and passion for service excellence. “More important than the increases
in total servicing income are the terrific client satisfaction ratings.
For the past 3 years, our clients have rated us well into the excellent
range,” said Leone. “I am proud of all of our employees and want to
thank them all for their hard work, dedication and attitude in
transforming our company into a data processing powerhouse.”
Leone added that
COCC enables its clients to do more with fewer resources, to respond
more decisively to regulatory examinations, and to grow their bottom
line. “One client increased its assets by 54% in five years without
adding to staff. Over 100 clients met their regulatory requirements for
Internet security with COCC’s secure Internet services. Approximately 36
clients collectively increased their fee income by $18M this past year,”
he said.
Recently, COCC
signed new clients in New England, Ohio and Pennsylvania, including the
largest credit union in Springfield, Massachusetts and the largest
savings bank in Rhode Island.
The Metro Hartford
Alliance and the Hartford Business Journal have presented the Business
Champions award for the past three years at the Connecticut Business
Expo in the Convention Center in Hartford. Winners must be privately
held and have taken a verifiable role in making the greater Hartford
area a premier place for its citizens to live, work and play. |
