CBT SELECTS COCC FOR EBANKING SERVICES
AVON, Conn. APR. 5, 2004 — The Connecticut Bank and Trust Company (CBT), one of the state’s most closely-watched de novo banks, has selected COCC for its electronic banking support. Under the agreement, COCC is managing CBT’s three automated teller machines (ATMs) and providing debit card services for CBT’s customers.
“Electronic banking is fundamental to every financial institution today,” said CBT’s Chairman & CEO David Lentini. “In COCC, we have found an organization able to meet our goal of providing all the competitive features we need to compete in our marketplace.”
Lentini added that the bank was attracted by COCC’s offering of nationally known, best-of-breed electronic banking solutions supported by a high quality staff for a large number of financial institutions. “Having live installations of all proposed products and excellent references convinced us that we are working with a superior partner. We are pleased to step ahead with COCC,” said Lentini.
CBT has opened three branches to date — one in Hartford, West Hartford and Glastonbury. Each location has its own ATM machine in addition to teller line and consumer “platform” services for financial planning and account opening.
CBT’s Executive Vice President, Deborah Davis, said that COCC’s client-owned structure, strong reputation for support, and extensive installation experience won the day. “COCC demonstrated the technical knowledge and service excellence needed to support our strategy of making a tangible difference in our market area.”
CBT is taking full advantage of COCC’s eVantage electronic banking system based on the eFunds processing platform and its ability to generate reports compatible with the bank’s internal archive and network services. Davis said that COCC’s flexibility and creativity in developing a solution tailored for the bank also factored into the system selection.
“We are very pleased with CBT’s selection of COCC,” said COCC’s President and CEO, Richard A. Leone. “CBT has been a respected name in Connecticut banking for nearly 200 years. CBT’s reintroduction to our marketplace by this forward-thinking organization represents the best of our heritage and the promise of our future. We look forward to working with CBT as it executes its plans to become a dominant force in Connecticut with next generation electronic banking technology.”
