Risk Management and Revenue Generation
COCC TO HOST DEBIT CARD SEMINAR IN STURBRIDGE, MA
AVON, Conn — NOVEMBER 8, 2004 — COCC, a leading provider of next generation technology services for community banks and credit unions, will host a debit card seminar to address risk management strategies and best practices for revenue generation. This full day seminar features prominent speakers from MasterCard, eFunds, Inc. and Fair Isaac as well as support experts from COCC.
“Recent studies indicate the most profitable and successful debit card programs are conducted by informed financial institutions,” said Mark Shaw, COCC’s First Vice President - Customer Service. “Our seminar is designed to give our clients the knowledge they need to manage the risk and increase the reward in their debit card programs.”
The seminar is important to COCC and its clients due to their heavy volume of debit card transactions. Approximately 7 million electronic banking transactions are processed per day through eFunds software running on Tandem non-stop processors at the company’s headquarters in Avon, Conn. The majority of these transactions involve debit cards.
Scheduled for November 10 at the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center in Sturbridge, MA, COCC’s seminar will include presentations by Fair Isaac Corporation’s Director - Global Fraud Solutions, Christopher Ryan; MasterCard International’s Northeastern Regional Manager — Security & Risk, Patti Ann Johnston; and eFunds Corporation’s Senior Product Manager, John Yusko.
“These individuals are experts in their respective fields,” said Shaw. “Chris Ryan manages Fair Isaac’s Fraud Solutions product set in the North American marketplace. Patti Ann Johnston is part of a MasterCard team that analyzes fraud trends and supports audits and investigations on suspected fraud cases. John Yusko develops products to support debit card issuers for eFunds. With these individuals on-board, we will have an exceptional day.”
Following each presentation, COCC has scheduled open discussions on risk management and fraud detection for debit cards. The discussions will be led by COCC support experts as well as the presenters.
“The debit card seminar is part of COCC’s power user program,” said Shaw. “We utilize multiple levels of training to help our client institutions maximize their return on their technology investments. Best practices training such as this seminar is reinforced by web resources and “shadow days” where COCC specialists observe client operations and recommend procedural modifications to increase revenue, streamline processes and improve market share.”
