COCC’S LEONE TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT FMS CONFERENCE

AVON, Conn. AUGUST 31, 2004 — Richard A. Leone, President and CEO of COCC, a leading provider of technology services for community banks and credit unions, will deliver the keynote address at the Financial Managers Society East Coast Regional Conference, September 19-21 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mr. Leone’s speech, entitled “Technology Truths: It’s all about Timing,” addresses the importance of understanding factors beyond the technology itself when a bank makes its technology purchase decisions.

“Financial institutions use technology extensively throughout their businesses,” said Leone. “They deliver services, analyze performance, and comply with an ever-increasing number of regulations with technology. While technology can certainly help institutions increase efficiency, every banker has invested too early in large technology changes. Worse, they have also felt the consequences of delaying those investments.”

Mr. Leone’s presentation examines current assumptions about today’s banking challenges and technology’s responses to those challenges. Among the technologies discussed in his presentation are check imaging, CRM, electronic bill presentment, and wireless banking. Mr. Leone will provide a method for bankers to determine whether a given technology deserves the bank’s investment dollars.

As COCC's leader since 2002, Mr. Leone has grown the company's brand by actively promoting its open technology platforms, cooperative ownership structure, and strong service culture. His “Mission Excellence” initiatives powered COCC through its complete client migration to the open platform and generated a 10% increase in clients last year.

COCC is an active member of American Community Bankers, Massachusetts Bankers Association, Connecticut Bankers Association, and the Connecticut Technology Council. Mr. Leone serves on the board of directors at a number of companies that provide services to the financial industry. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association and the Chamber of Commerce in Avon, Connecticut. He was awarded a CPA designation from the State of Connecticut in 1985.
