LIBERTY BANK SELECTS COCC FOR IMAGE PROCESSING SERVICES
AVON, CT March 5, 2003 - COCC, the top tier data processing servicer for community financial institutions in the Northeastern US, today announced a multi-year agreement to provide next generation check and statement image processing services to Liberty Bank, a $2 billion bank headquartered in Middletown, Connecticut.
"COCC will enable Liberty Bank to realize significant service and cost saving advantages through the use of cutting-edge technology," said Robert Hoppenstedt, Liberty Bank's Executive Vice President, Personal Banking. "We chose COCC because of its reputation as a next generation image processor, able to offer the services that meet our goals and objectives."
Liberty Bank will be utilizing COCC's all image platform, which provides on-line access to check images at every stage of item processing. These services include comprehensive proof and transit, inclearing and return services, plus a number of service enhancements such as image statements, customer access to check images and e-statements, as well as next generation business services.
Liberty will immediately increase its operating efficiency through the use of COCC's bank-wide image research capabilities. "Having check images available throughout the bank will enable us to provide better service to our customers," said Hoppenstedt. "Customers will also enjoy the convenience of online access to check images and e-statements. With more and more customers demonstrating a preference for banking electronically, it's important that we continually upgrade our services to offer them the latest enhancements."
Hoppenstedt added that the Liberty-COCC partnership will also deliver new business services that will rival anything currently available in the market today. "COCC's experience with next generation image technology will help us to further develop electronic services for our business customers," he said.
COCC's president and CEO, Richard A. Leone said, "This is an opportunity for one of the region's great financial institutions to experience the quality and commitment of COCC's services. Our image processing services do not require an institution to utilize our "core" processing systems. We are willing and eager to serve community financial institutions' image processing needs."
In addition to image processing, COCC offers financial management and electronic banking as "stand-alone" services. "We have carefully selected the technology leaders in each of these areas and further enhanced their products to deliver superior service at an attractive price," said Leone.
