ORACLE E-BUSINESS SUITE TO RAISE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE FOR COCC'S COMMUNITY BANK CUSTOMERS
Financial Institutions across the Northeast Expected to Benefit from Web-Based Financial Solutions and Break-Through Business Intelligence
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 18, 2003 - Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL), the world's largest enterprise software company, today announced that COCC, a leading technology provider for community financial institutions, has upgraded 50 percent of its customers to the latest business intelligence capabilities available in the Oracle E-Business Suite. COCC recently upgraded to the Oracle E-Business Suite to improve its competitive offering by providing customers with industry leading financial management solutions to streamline workflow and improve business intelligence. The Oracle E-Business Suite provides COCC's customers with an integrated set of financial management and accounting applications to help automate processes, reduce finance, accounting and information technology (IT) costs, and improve both operating efficiencies and business management.
COCC leverages Oracle Financials, including Oracle Assets, Oracle Cash Management, Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Payables and Oracle Application Desktop Integrator, as well as Oracle9i Discoverer, to help financial institutions avoid redundancies associated with manual reporting processes, which can consequently save them time and lower operating costs. Additionally, Oracle Financials enables COCC banks and credit unions to access, manage, store and analyze information about their business lines and customers to make quicker and better business decisions regarding customer accounts and the performance of bank programs and services.
"Our goal is to provide our member banks with the highest level of service, in a cost-effective way," said Linda Stahl, AVP, Financial Services for COCC. "By offering the Oracle E-Business Suite, we can deploy a proven solution on which our clients can depend. Our customers gain better insight into their businesses and reduce their operating expenses associated with financial reporting."
An Oracle customer since 1999, COCC recently upgraded to the Oracle E-Business Suite to take advantage of enhanced functionality. COCC chose Oracle applications for its customers as part of its move from a legacy mainframe system to the current client server environment. The recent upgrade to the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i enables COCC to provide their clients with Web-based applications accessible through any browser, which can eliminate the need for the remote sites to upgrade their hardware, making it cost-effective for them to deploy. COCC is already reaping the benefits from the decision, winning contracts with 22 new financial service institutions in the last four months.
"Today's premier financial services companies have set the industry standard by integrating their financial reporting and management systems to improve managerial decisions and more efficiently comply with regulatory requirements," said Don Russo, vice president of the Financial Services sector for Oracle. "To help community banks stay current in this competitive market, COCC has brought industry best practices to their clients, while saving them significant costs associated with deployment."
COCC also plans to roll out Oracle9i Application Server to its customers to integrate information from loan and deposit applications. The Oracle9i Application Server, which utilizes portal technology, is expected to deliver critical business information, such as reports and statistical data, to bank employees over the Web.
